I am a Ph.D. student interested in running. I have set a goal of running a half-marathon in 1:35. I have run one Half-Marathon before starting this blog. I ran the 2008 Virginia Beach Rock n Roll Half-Marathon in 2:06. I have been running pretty consistently for over a year, but took some time off before resuming my training.
I live in Alabama, but travel a great deal. This puts a tremendous amount of stress on my ability to exercise as much as I would like. Unfortunately, this is not going to change in the near future, so in an effort to keep myself going (and running when I just don’t feel like it), I have constructed this blog. I hope that you will find something out of the recording of my efforts to lose weight and perform better.
With that said, I would strongly discourage anyone from simply trying to copy my methods. I am certain they are unorthodox and will likely lead to injury or serious discomfort. I am not exercising for the point of being in better health, rather, I am trying to lose weight and to perform better in race conditions. I want to win. Why? I don’t know.
Therefore, if you are trying to improve your overall health, you may be able to take something from my struggles, rantings or musings, but you will not want to mimic my lifestyle.

I love your site. Keep it up !
