Why do I run?

In Musings, Rants and Explanations on April 7, 2009 at 11:48 pm

After watching a few episodes of East Bound and Down, I started to think about why I run. Well, the answer is to beat you.

I want to win. I want to beat you. It is that simple. I run not only to do my best, but to do better than others. I know it is unrealistic to think that I can beat all of you, especially the elite runners out their, but that is what I want to do. I want to pass the people in front of me coming down that last mile. I want to hit the line with nothing else, covered in my own sweat, and begging for water.

This is why I run. Why do you?
